Keeping files only as long as you need them

A folder can be given a retention rule so that anything inside it is sent to the bin automatically after a chosen time — options like 30 days, 1 year, or 6 years (a common length for accounting records). This is optional and off by default.

A file in the bin, whether it got there by a retention rule or because someone deleted it, waits 30 days before it is removed for good, and can be restored at any point before that.
